The blooms are set on reddish stems against grey-green foliage. They are sweetly scented. softest pink, open and cupped. Red hips follow the blooms. Tolerant and hardy.

The clear pink blooms are sweetly scented, fully double and cupped. Flowers in summer and should be pruned after flowering. Slightly drooping habit but quite hardy all the same.

aka Old Black Moss Moss. An exquisite rose with tight buds clad with dark green 'moss' that open to reveal small flowers in sumptuous maroon-black highlighted with golden stamens. The buds are said to look like a 'cocked hat' hence the name Chapeau De Napoleon or 'Napoleon's Hat'. Not sure what the little general would think about that, mind you he did love Josephine and she in turn had a passion for roses.......

The name Mutablis means 'changeable' which is what really describes the flower colour best. This rose is also described as the 'Butterfly Rose' as the single flowers float and dance above the foliage like a - you guessed it - a butterfly.
